Chestermere is an Alberta city within Rocky View County and is most known for the beautiful Lake it surrounds. In 2014 it was named the fastest growing town in Alberta and was given city status on January 1st, 2015.  Chestermere is Alberta's 18th city and the closest city to Calgary.  Chestermere has become a desirable location for many people who are looking for the small town and urban lifestyle.  Chestermere offers a variety of recreational amenities that cater to all age groups. From boating, wakeboarding, water skiing, fishing, to ice skating, Chestermere Lake has become a popular summer and winter attraction for many.  Other popular amenities include the Chestermere Recreation Centre, Lakeside Greens Golf Course, a BMX/Bike Park, Skate Park, and Outdoor Tennis & Basketball Courts. It is also connected to the Calgary Bike Path.  Chestermere is a part of the Rocky View School Division and is home to 6 Public Schools and 2 Catholic Schools, with grade levels ranging from K-5, K-9, 6-9, 9-12, and K-12.  Chestermere is a steadily growing city with a total population of 20,732 in 2018.  It has seen a 34% population growth since 2011, and a 2% population growth in 2018.  There are a total of 15 neighborhoods throughout Chestermere and a diverse option of residential homes and multi-residential units.  The city is made up of mostly single-family homes, townhouses, and semi-detached homes.
